Myan started training in martial arts at a young age and is now an experienced striker and avid grappler with black belts in multiple disciplines. As an Army Veteran, he understands the value of service and giving back to the community. He holds a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences and MBA/MPH from Rutgers University. His love for education, martial arts, and passion for sharing his knowledge with others inspired him to open Garuda Martial Arts.

Tammy Colatat
Assistant Instructor
Tammy also started her martial arts career early in life. She was a high school wrestler and achieved the rank of 2nd-degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate. Tammy holds a B.A. in Biology and an MPH Rutgers University. As an Army veteran, she continues to develop her martial arts skills while promoting women's fitness and self-defense.

David Pickering
Judo Assistant Instructor
David Pickering is an active competitor and Assistant Instructor at Garuda Martial Arts. Bringing a multi-disciplinary approach to the mat, David holds a Green Belt in Judo and competes and trains in Brazilian JiuJitsu (BJJ).
He is a dedicated practitioner with a strong tournament track record, David has amassed 21 career competition wins across Judo and BJJ events.
Whether assisting with adult classes or guiding newer students through sparring and drill execution, David emphasizes technique, competition readiness, and continuous growth on and off the mat.
